Infrared Sauna and Light Therapy

Infrared light is supposed to relieve pain, helps the body release toxins, improve circulation and metabolism. How can this supposed ability?

The application of infrared heat is not new. It is also produced by the sun. Such is the heat you feel penetrate on your skin when you stand in the sun - and miss when you walk in the shade. Infrared energy is also emitted as heat from the body.

Any ever been outside on a sunny day of spring on the 50F and felt quite comfortable until the sun was suddenly obscured by a cloud? Although the air temperature had not had time to put on, I felt cold, as the cloud would not let the warming infrared rays through to reach you.
