Question for Massage Therapists! massage student & need some clarification on Spa Work!?

Hello! I am a student at a massage school in my 3rd week of training. I was hoping someone could help me out because I'm a little confused! My classes consist of a part 1 and part 2.
Part 1 is the classroom hours and clinical hours I need in order to get a license with the state.
Part 2 is optional, split into classes, and is very expensive. Part 2 is where you learn hot stone, sports, reflexology, chair and such...
I want to work in a spa. So my question is... Do I need these extra classes in order to get a job with a spa? and also, Can I practice these types of massages without having any formal training in them?

Yes you will most likely need more skills to work anywhere. Be sure you take deep tissue classes too and really practice it a lot and be good at it.

You can practice without them but you will be way behind everyone else and be less competitive.

It also depends on the spa and what they offer in services.

Getting a job is also being able to promote yourself and go after you ideal job. It is figuring out what that is and learning job seeking skills to go and get it.
